braylee bennett
braylee bennett is a theatrical storyteller based in Brooklyn, New York.
Theater maker? More like theater troublemaker.
With an extreme (borderline obsessive, but in a charming way) love for musical theater, Braylee Bennett is a multi-hyphenate artist who seamlessly blends acting, singing, writing, directing, producing, and design—because why settle for one when you can do all of them?
Her obsession with the stage began in Charleston, SC, when she made her grand debut in the first grade. From that moment on, the spotlight and she were inseparable, leading her to earn a B.F.A. in Performing Arts from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
In 2020, when the world stopped and Broadway’s lights went dark, Braylee couldn’t sit still. So, She found a new creative home at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center’s National Theater Institute, where she fully committed to being a multi-hyphenate storyteller. It was there that she expanded beyond acting, diving headfirst into writing, directing, and design—because one artistic lane was never going to be enough!
A passionate storyteller, Braylee crafts bold, bizarre, and heartfelt narratives where music and theater collide. She began writing her original musical, UNSTOPPABLE and hasn’t stopped since. After moving to New York, she expanded beyond the world of song with her plays, F.A.R.T: Something Stinks! (Serials at The Tank) and The Snail (Paper Kraine Productions) hitting the stage. she constantly searches for fresh, dynamic ways to engage audiences—whether helming staged readings or bringing stories to life on film with Unstoppable the Musical: The Music Video. Because if there’s a story to tell, she’ll find a way to tell it.
Braylee loves to sculpt worlds on the stage with her design skills. Whether it's bringing a fantasy world to life or just a regular day in a classroom, she focuses on the details, especially Lighting design. For her, lighting isn’t just about illumination; it’s a way to paint the stage with emotional color, shaping mood, tension, and storytelling with every cue. Braylee is always on the lookout for more opportunities to design lighting. She’s also deeply interested in set and props design—because why stop at just one way to build a world?
Beyond the creative, Braylee thrives as a producer, making the impossible happen. She became the go-to person for managing projects, wrangling schedules, and coordinating logistics, a skill set she’s carried into producing her own work.
At the end of the day, Braylee’s goal is to create thought-provoking theater that challenges perspectives, Sparks Conversation and leaves audiences seeing the world a little differently.
Outside of the world of theater, Braylee embraces friendship and family. She’s a dog mom to a Bratty Shih-Tzu named Mitzi. She is passionate about human rights, especially women’s and LGBTQ+ issues, and drinks way too much Sprite.
So sit back, relax… and enjoy…
the Braylee show.
